Seed or oil, crude or refined: we are the counterparty in Egypt
Overview
We import soybeans, sunflower seed and crude or refined sunflower and soybean oil into Egypt, so an exporter who sells any of them keeps the same counterparty here. We hold the import licensing and run the clearance ourselves, and we attend inspection and weighing at the discharge port with the appointed surveyors. We do not crush the seed and we do not refine the oil: we clear the cargo and place it with the buyers who do, serving private and public sector buyers. Payment is secured through confirmed letters of credit.
What we import
Raw Soybeans
Whole raw soybeans, high in oil and protein, for the local crushers, who extract the oil and the digestible protein meal the feed industry runs on.
Sunflower Seeds
High-oil sunflower seed for the crushers, plus large-caliber confectionery varieties for roasting, bakery use and snack packing.
Crude Sunflower Oil
Bulk crude sunflower oil, low in free fatty acids and moisture, for the refineries to refine, bleach, deodorize and package.
Refined Sunflower Oil
Refined, bleached and deodorized (RBD) sunflower oil, clear and ready for consumer bottling, food service and wholesale distribution.
Crude Soybean Oil
Bulk crude soybean oil, degummed, for the local refineries and industrial food preparation.
Refined Soybean Oil
Refined soybean oil, neutral in odor, for consumer bottling, commercial frying, food service and food manufacturing.
Key Features
Oil Egypt buys abroad
Egypt imports most of the vegetable oil it consumes, and the feed industry runs on protein meal crushed from imported soybeans.
Cleared in country
Seed or oil, we clear it ourselves: customs, GOEIC import control, agricultural quarantine and NFSA food-safety documentation.
Which model, upfront
Seed goes to the crushers, crude oil to the refiners, refined oil to the packers. We say upfront which model the cargo is on.
